A few honest answers.

Plain answers about the beta and how it works.

THE DETAILS

What to expect.

Is the beta really free?

Accepted beta customers get three years of free hosting for the site and resource allowance agreed in writing. There is no card or automatic paid conversion; we would discuss any future plan before a charge applies.

Can an existing website move over?

Yes. You can prepare a WordPress import or provide an agreed export; we can review software, media, database, email and traffic with you before cutover. We test a copy first, then plan the DNS change and a way back. See how a migration works →

Can an invited customer start a new website?

Yes. Tell us the domain and what kind of site you need. We can set up an accepted beta site with you now; invited customers will be able to use guided creation once the customer dashboard is ready.

Do you have a WordPress migration plugin?

Yes. The WordPress importer can package files and the database for a suitable site. We can provide it and help with the transfer if needed. We check access, size and compatibility first, then test the migrated copy before DNS changes.

Can a site be brought over using SSH, SFTP or FTP?

Yes. You can provide an agreed file and database export over SSH or SFTP, or we can assist. If the old host only offers FTP or a control-panel download, we’ll agree a suitable handover before transferring anything.

Will the customer dashboard support creating and importing sites?

Yes, that is the planned route for invited customers. Guided create/import controls are not available to customers yet, so we can set up or import an accepted beta site with you in the meantime.

Will an existing site go offline during a move?

The aim is a planned cutover with as little interruption as possible. The risk depends on your current host, DNS, email and site behaviour, so we’ll explain the expected window and rollback before making changes.

Do you only host WordPress?

No. We also consider static sites and suitable custom applications. Tell us what your site runs and what it needs so we can assess the fit.

Can you host a WooCommerce shop?

Yes, subject to a fit check. Checkout, orders and logged-in pages need different cache rules from public product pages. We plan the migration and test those journeys before cutover.

Can AceMedia improve a WordPress site as well as host it?

Yes. Hosting and site development are different scopes. We can review media, caching, search visibility, accessibility and update workflows, then quote any development separately.

Will every site get a CDN and Redis?

No. We choose delivery and caching settings for the site. Public images may suit a CDN; private or changing content needs different rules. Redis or Valkey can help some WordPress workloads, but only where it is useful and tested.

How are backups and restores handled?

We agree what must be backed up, how long copies are kept and how a restore would work for your site. We check the recovery route before describing a backup as complete.

Who owns the domain and content?

You keep control of your domain and content. We agree the access needed to host or migrate the site, and we’ll explain how to export it if you later move.

What happens to existing email?

We check your existing mailboxes, DNS records and transactional email before touching the domain. Website hosting does not require moving your email service unless we agree to do so.

Where is AceMedia Host based?

AceMedia Host is built and operated from Sheffield; we work with sites beyond the city. Read about hosting from Sheffield →

Can an agency become a reseller?

Branded reseller access is being built for an invite-only beta. It is not available through public self-service registration yet; tell us about your clients and branding needs.

Is customer login available immediately?

Not yet. The public customer login is not active. We will issue account access by invitation only after setup and isolation checks are complete.

What support is included?

Your invitation will state the site, allowance and support scope. You can contact us directly; larger development or emergency cover needs a separate agreement.

How do we ask for one of the ten beta places?

Send us an enquiry with your site address if you have one, the platform it uses and the work it needs to do. We review the fit and discuss a route for setup or migration. An enquiry is not an account or a guaranteed place.

What is included in the free hosting allowance?

We set out the accepted site, resources and support scope in writing before onboarding. Needs outside that allowance are discussed and quoted separately before any work or charge. We do not publish a single package that fits every site.

Are design work, domain registration and email included?

They are separate unless we agree otherwise in writing. You can usually keep your domain registrar and email provider while we host the website; we check the DNS and mail records before a move. We can scope design or development through AceMedia if you need it.

What happens after three years?

We discuss any future paid plan before the free period ends. There is no automatic charge or forced conversion.
